Jenny Coconut, a 20-year-old donkey who has endured a life that no animal should ever have to face.

For over 15 long years, Coconut served as a donkey taxi, forced to bear the burden of carrying humans for their amusement. Every day, she would be dressed up and paraded around, her gentle nature overshadowed by the weight of her cruel existence. She carried not just their weight, but also the sadness and exhaustion of a life filled with abuse.

When her tired body and weary mind had no more strength to give, when she yearned for an end to the misery and torment, her so-called keepers callously loaded her onto a lorry, destined for a cruel slaughter. It seemed like her story would come to a tragic end.

But fate had other plans for Coconut. Just under two years ago, our sanctuary became her saving grace. Coconut was rescued from the clutches of darkness, brought into the warm embrace of compassion, and given a second chance at life.

Her journey to recovery has been marked by ups and downs. The scars she bears, both physical and mental, are a grim reminder of the abuse she endured for far too long. But today, we are happy to report that Coconut has found solace in the arms of our sanctuary. She has learned to trust again, to find comfort in the presence of new friends who care for her deeply.

While she may never fully heal from the wounds inflicted upon her, we are determined to provide Coconut with a lifetime of peace and security. She will know no more pain or suffering, only an abundance of love and care from our dedicated team.

Coconut’s story is a testament to the indomitable spirit of animals and the incredible resilience they possess. It reminds us of the urgent need to raise awareness about the cruel practices that so many innocent creatures endure each day.
