Introducing Alex, our incredible rescue donkey gelding!

It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago, this gentle soul was facing an uncertain future at the livestock market. At just 8 months old, Alex had already endured fear, anxiety, and the overwhelming weight of an unpredictable destiny.

But then, the stars aligned, and Alex found his way to Fields of Freedom Animal Sanctuary, where he discovered a safe haven filled with love, care, and companionship. Here, we’ve created a sanctuary for over 50 equines, all of whom have been saved from neglect, abandonment, and abuse.

Through patient rehabilitation, Alex has blossomed into a trustful and joyful member of our sanctuary family. His transformation is a testament to the immense healing power of a nurturing environment and kind-hearted humans.

Every day, we witness Alex’s playful spirit light up our fields, his brays echoing with happiness. He has formed deep bonds with fellow rescued equines, sharing in their stories of survival and triumph.
